  1. I love how applicable your project is and that it has a tangible goal of education and outreach. While it sounds morbid, a lot of people give up on educating older generations because they have less time and impact left in our society than their younger counterparts, but to continue as productive, informed, and accepting/kind members of society and religion this kind of education is SO important. The inclusion of reasoning/basis and religious stance/progression so the older generations can stay up to date on their church’s more progressive beliefs is great as well!

  2. Loved your presentation and goal of educating the older generation who may not want to be intolerant but don’t know how to navigate gender, LGBTQ+ history, respecting pronouns, etc. I am curious about how you would plan to disseminate this information/get it to your target audience

  3. Thank you for sharing the religion you grew up with- it’s really interesting to know more about different world religion that we didn’t get a chance to look at. I find the lesson useful since I always have the thought to educate older generation about some ‘new’ theory we learned, such as pronoun, identification, etc. It is an informative and useful resource for education purpose.

  4. I enjoyed learning about Presbyterianism! I had no knowledge about it prior to your presentation, and I feel like I got a great introduction to it. In general, I think that your project was really important: inclusive education can really change things and help religion and LGBTQ+ people come together (instead of always existing in separate realms). I loved the LGBTQ+ history slide you added! It was a very informative and visually pleasing slide. I also liked the exploration of different Biblical passages that you included: your inclusion of arguments for the gender binary but also against it was interesting and provided a lot of food for thought. I loved the Kahoot activity that you included at the end! It is a great educational resource!

  5. I am happy that this is a positive expression of LGBTQ+ shown in Christianity and religion in general. Your presentation was detailed, and explained a lot about the inclusion and debates in the presbyterian branch of Christianity. I especially appreciated the timeline of events. I hope that more branches of Christianity will also adopt more progressive policies and follow suit.

  6. Learned a lot about the Presbyterians from this! I don’t have a great grasp on all the different branches of protestants. I think this would be a great presentation for the older adults in your church, as long as they go into it with an open mind and willingness to learn.

  7. I thought your presentation was very interesting and informative. I really appreciated your LGBTQIA+ timeline because it really puts things into perspective that the Presbyterian Church was not accepting of the community until recently. I also thought the Kahoot was a great touch and helped to highlight some of the most important parts of your presentation!

  8. This was a really cool format for your presentation! I can imagine it working so well as a teaching tool for older people, especially ones who may already want to learn more about the LGBTQ community but aren’t sure how to start or, like you mentioned, have trouble navigating the internet. I thought it was really important how you had slides that talk specifically about the accepting view of the church and the affirmations found within the Bible itself because I think that knowing that their church condones it will open their minds even more. The part about all humans being wonderfully made was adorable and is worth repeating to people of all ages and stages of life!

  9. This is such a beautiful presentation! Not only is the presentation itself gorgeous, but the content feels really applicable to real-world situations. I really hope that you find a way to put your work into use as a teaching tool because it explained concepts in a really accessible and understandable way while still being rooted in presbyterian theology.

  10. This presentation was awesome! I like how you talk about pronouns. I know a lot of people who don’t understand the whole pronoun thing and I think it’s great that you touched on that! It would be awesome if you gave a presentation for communities who are still struggling to accept the different pronouns that are being used today.

  11. I really liked your presentation! I didn’t know much about the Presbyterian church but I thought your overview of its history was really informative. I also thought your explanation of pronouns and the importance of them was well done. For people who don’t get why we need to state them and use the correct ones, I think it helps to put it in simplified terms and explain the impact they have on others.

  12. I appreciate how you educated us about pronouns – this is such an important concept and we all learned something from your project. The structure of your presentation was so engaging, and the Kahoot at the end was an entertaining and enjoyable way to sum up and conclude your research – I enjoyed it!

  13. I loved how creative your presentation was, especially the interactive lesson in which you explained to older generations sexuality. Apart from that, your presentation aesthetic was very beautiful! I feel like our topics go closely together since I also touched on the subject of sex education. I can’t stress enough how important sex education is and seeing how you would engage this type of information to older generations is splendid! Your Kahoot was a wonderful opportunity to engage with the class and help me retrieve all the information.

  14. I enjoyed learning about a different branch in Christianity, I think this is a branch that may be popular, but a lot of people actually do not know much about. You have a really good initiative as to how you can teach others within your church to be more inclusive and more open to our world today. The Kahoot activity was actually really fun too!

  15. Due to my upbringing I never thought religious spaces would be progressive or accepting. This project opened my eyes. Queer education in religious settings is super important to continue progressing and decrease shame around queerness. Growing up in accepting religious spaces such as the Presbitarian church has the potential to heal so many people

  16. As someone who grew up partially in the Presbyterian church, I think you did a great job at making a presentation that would teach a congregation! It has been lovely to watch my home church become more accepting throughout the years, and you did a great job outlining that progress in your timeline! I loved the way you covered sex and gender, and I am so glad that you did this project! It was so sweet, and I hope that you get the opportunity to present it to your church!

  17. I enjoyed how easy your presentation was to follow as someone who isn’t that familiar with the Christian tradition. I also liked how you embedded a mini-presentation within your project, it was very clear and was mindful of the audience you were trying to target. I can tell you put a lot of thought and effort into this project and it shows! I hope that you will be able to present this at your church back home!

  18. ELIZA! I absolutely adored your project. Thank you for sharing the religion that you grew up in, it’s nice to know that there are some aspects that were tolerable and have been in a way helpful and space for you. Having the goal of wanting to educate older generations of people in the most simple way is magnificent. I wish there was a way to incorporate this into other religions. By creating a safe space for people, it might help queer people form better relationships with God. The interactive game is such a smart move and it was very fun!
