  1. I really enjoyed listening to your presentation! I think it provided some much needed insight into our discussions on hookup culture beyond the majority-white experiences we heard from in the videos. I was interested in the amount of differences within the responses, really showing that many opinions on hookup culture vary even within cultural groups. I also appreciated your notations on the gendered differences in your participant responses, as it seems women have a much greater stigma against them for participating in hookup culture than men.

  2. Hi! I really liked listening to your presentation and viewing the visual aid. The graphics were really cool and seamlessly accompanied your research. Your research was very detailed, and there are facts I learned that I hadn’t known before. Your presentation provided a thoughtful and nuanced exploration of hookup culture in POC communities. I appreciated how you highlighted the cultural and social factors that shape these experiences. Your analysis of the dark side of hookup culture added depth to the discussion, and the examples you included were very interesting. Great job!

  3. This is a super interesting project! It really is eye-opening to see the racial divide between POC students and non-POC students in regards to something that is stereotyped to be something that all college students participate in. It was also interesting to see the gender divide in how POC students view hookup culture, with men being more open to it while women generally had a negative view. Overall this is an important and relevant topic to explore and I think you did a great job!

  4. I really enjoyed your presentation, the visuals complemented well with your research, making the topic even more engaging. I liked how thoughtful your analysis of the cultural and social factors shaping these experiences was, it really stood out. I also found it cool how you highlighted the diversity of responses within cultural groups, showing just how varied opinions on hookup culture can be. You picked a very interesting topic and I learned a lot. Good job!

  5. I enjoyed all your mediums to convey your message on your topic of hookup culture. It was interesting to listen to your use of a survey of students and posts on modern sources of social media like TikTok. There seem to be a lot of societal pressures and influences that affect hookup culture for diverse communities, so it was nice to learn more about it from your perspective. Thanks for a great presentation!

  6. I really enjoyed your presentation and seeing how everything came together after our peer review session! I liked how many different sources you used for your information between literature, TikTok, interviews, and the survey. I think your analysis of the dark side of hook up culture added more content and context to what we’ve talked about in class, so thank you for sharing that!

  7. I really liked how you explored the emotional consequences of casual sex especially within the context of POC LGBTQ communities. The way you incorporated multiple perspectives really helped paint a fuller picture of the emotional complexities people face in hookup culture. I also enjoyed the different mediums you provided, such as the references to studies, personal experiences, interviews — they helped reinforce the deeper emotional toll that often gets overlooked. The points about loneliness and the pressure to avoid emotional attachment really stood out to me, and I think it’s something I think more people need to acknowledge.

  8. I really liked your project and especially with the context of POC. It shows the complexities that POC face especially with hookup culture. You did a very good analysis with this and the use of TikToks, and surveys to highlight personal experiences. Overall you did very good, great job!

  9. I really enjoyed the amount of digital media used within this presentation from the charts, to tiktoks and voice memos, a lot of great effort and work was done here and it was truly shown. I had such a good time watching your presentation and being a continuation of the hookup culture we discussed in class (my favorite topic in class), it was eye opening and nice hearing from people our age and a different perspective.
